Ensimmäisen persoonan ammuntapeli (myös FPS-peli, engl. First Person Shooter) on videopelilajityyppi, jossa pelimaailma esitetään pelihahmon näkökulmasta ja joka vahvasti painottaa taistelua. Näin kertoo wikipedian kirjoittajat.

Oma varhaisin muisto ns. ensimmäisen persoonan peleistä on ibm-tietokoneen peli, jossa piti löytää reitti ulos sokkelosta. Jonkin aikaa sitä tuli veivattua ja lopulta tie ulos löytyi. Useimmat pelit sisältävät nykyään tappamista ja väkivaltaa, vaikka uskaltaisin väittää, että monia kiinnostaisi myös vaikkapa peli, jossa tutkitaan asioita (eikä tapeta niitä).

Kyllä tämä on kiinnostava kehitys. Pelien evoluutiossa on mielestäni hauska seurata kuinka yhä kehittyneempi hardware/rauta tuo uusia ominaisuuksia peleihin, kun kun kehittäjät saavat uusia mahdollisuuksia.
